March 2022

Welcome Spring 2022

March has been a very busy month with lots of celebrations from Pancake Day to Mother’s Day and all that’s in between. We have also explored different countries and cultures with National days and charity events. Who knew you could fit so much fun in a small amount of time.

All of us are enjoying the beginnings of Spring and the sun is a welcome sight, the children have loved being outdoors more, experiencing the changes to our environment and the local community.

Flamingos were very lucky to have a visit from a dentist and dental nurse talking to the children about keeping their teeth healthy and the effects of sugary foods, they were kind enough to give us our very own model teeth as well. Thank you, the children were so excited to share what they had learned with their families. Meanwhile Puffins have put their lab coats on and celebrated science week culminating with a volcanic eruption.

Koalas have been to the local shops to buy ingredients for a special treat for their mums, ssh don’t tell them yet. Polar Bears and Pandas have been exploring their mark making skills using lots of different media, the sand and drumsticks was a particular favourite.

Babies have been partying, dimmed the lights and found the sensory items along with there favourite songs. They have had a ball.

Pancake day was enjoyed by all as Max our Forest school leader set out the firepit and made some treats with all of the children…the staff got some too.

Chickenpox Study

The Children's Hospital and University of Bristol are trying and understand the potential benefits of the chickenpox vaccine in the UK.  To do this we need parents of children with chickenpox to help us by filling out an online diary each day while ill.  It is just a few short daily questions, no blood tests, no home or hospital visits.  The results of the study will be really important to help us decide if we should use a vaccine against chickenpox in the UK.

If your child does catch chickenpox please visit www.chickenpox-study.co.uk for more information.
