February 2022
Nursery News
Our building work is coming along nicely, and we are about half-way through with only two bathrooms left to be completed. The new environments are neutral in tone, spacious and have motion sensored taps which the children really enjoy, they also look amazing. The children in preschool have taken inspiration from the builders on site and have popped on their hard hats to do their own construction works.
Max and the team are developing a forest school area at the far end of our garden for the children to explore all year round. Using locally found branches to build a small picket fence and larger logs for seating, as well as planting some fruit trees with the long term plan being to have an orchard we can all enjoy.
On the subject of Preschool, Max has taken a step back from his role as Head of Puffins to build on his forest school role and dedicate more time with the children to outdoor learning. He will still be based at our Weston nursery. This leads me to share the good news that Lucy will be taking on the role of Head of room, she has been working with Puffins for the past 6 months and has lots of exciting ideas for the children.

Reminders
Please can we ask that any items of clothing, comforters and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child’s name on, this helps us to keep a track of anything that belongs to your child.
Our core session times are 8-6pm, 8-12.45pm, 1.15pm or 9-3pm, please can we ask that your children are collected promptly at the end of their sessions. Charges are applicable for any late collections.
The children's health and safety is paramount to us and the car park can be a busy place, especially during some parts of the day. Please be aware of cars coming in and out and ensuring cars are parked in designated spaces only. Please can we remind all parents that children should be supervised in the car park at all times to ensure they are kept safe and we ask that you do not leave your car running while waiting to ensure clean air for all our children.
