Pre-school Graduation, Sports day and BBQ
On Sunday 14th July our Pre-school leavers had their graduation. The rest of Pre-school joined us later for Sports Day and our yummy BBQ. It was a beautiful sunny day and we hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Here are a few shots from the day:

Millie’s Mark
Here at Snapdragons Weston we are working towards our Millie’s Mark. We are very proud that, as such a big site, we are pro-active in training all our staff in Paediatric First Aid.
“Millie's Mark will be awarded as a special endorsement to childcare providers that go above and beyond these minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid, and also ensuring that everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable.”

Snappies going green
At Weston we are still pushing to make ourselves greener and improve the futures of the children in our care. As a company you will be aware that we no longer use glitter or plastic straws at nursery and now we are going even further! We are looking into using reusable nappies, recycling natural resources instead of plastic and looking for alternatives to our plastic water bottles.
Wessex Water are also coming into Snapdragons this month to talk to our Pre-school children and Holiday Club about the importance of drinking water and brushing their teeth. The Wessex Water team will entertain Pre-School with puppets and discussions and Holiday Club will take part in activities and challenges.
Race for Life - Pretty Muddy
On Sunday 22nd September we are running the 5k Race for Life, in memory of our friend Abbie, lost family members and anyone affected by cancer. We would love it if you could give us your support and got behind us for this challenge. Any donations of any amount are welcome and all go towards fighting this disease.

Reminders
Buggy shed - When leaving your buggy/bikes in the shed please be mindful of the placement and other parents belongings. We understand the shed is quite full and we have asked our maintenance team to help us clear it out, however in the meantime please can you fold your buggies.
Term begins - The term time will start on Monday 2nd September.
Suncream - Please can you remember to bring in your child’s sumcream (named bottled). If your child has not got suncream unfortunately they cannot go outside in the warm weather.
Dates for your diary
Parents evening - Tuesday 22nd October - More information to come.
Nativites (pre-school only) - Monday 16th & Tuesday 17th December - You will be told closer to the time which day your child will be performing on.
Name tags
Lost items of clothing can happen in a busy nursery which is why we have partnered up with My Nametags. My Nametags offer personalised name tags for your child’s clothes, bags and shoes etc. All you need to do is either iron on or stick them on. Simple!
