March 2021
Spring has sprung! We have had another busy month here at Redland, celebrating events such as World Book Day and Red Nose Day. We have also been making the most of the lovely sunshine by spending as much time as possible in our wonderful outdoor environments.
It is so important for children to engage in outdoor play, and it has many benefits to their development and wellbeing. It supports not just their physical development, but also offers opportunities for a range of role play, mark making, and engagement with nature. We encourage our children to manage their own risks when using climbing equipment and take pride in their achievements when they master a new skill!
For Red Nose Day this year the theme was carnival! We all wore our brightest colours and got creative making a range of carnival crowns to finish off our outfits. We danced to music. blew bubbles, and played games with the rainbow parachutes. We also spent time in our key groups talking about the things that we are appreciative for, and why we were raising money to help others. Thanks to your generosity we raised over £150 for Comic Relief and the wonderful projects they support.
We love World Book Day here at Snapdragons! This year we all enjoyed dressing up as some of our favourite characters, reading books together, and getting stuck in to some story inspired messy play!
We also spent time with the children making cards and gifts for Mother’s Day, or other special people who take care of them. March also saw us celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and St. David’s Day, which prompted lots of conversation about our family origins and different places we are all from.
Thank you so much to all of you who completed a ‘Snappy Superstar’ nomination last month, we were all so pleased to read them! Please do keep them coming in!
