August 2021

We have had lots going on in August, with life opening back up, children going on holidays and preparing to leave us for school. We have been celebrating birthdays, preparing for Graduation and looking after our butterflies in the garden.

As of the 6th of September we are looking forward to welcoming you all back in to collect your children and see them having fun with their friends! Drop offs in the mornings will stay as they are with Pre-School, Toddlers and Babies all using separate entrances and staff coming to collect children from outside.

For pick up times, we would still like Baby parents to buzz at the baby door and then you will be able to go into the baby rooms to collect. For Pre-school and Toddlers, you will need to come to the front entrance and then you can walk through the nursery to your child’s room. Please use the hand gel on entry to the nursery.

I know we have mentioned this in previous newsletters, but we have had concerned calls from residents opposite the nursery regarding parents and visitors turning right into the nursery when coming from the Saltford direction. This is a slip road for those houses only and you will need to go round the roundabout to turn left into the nursery.

With September approaching please ask your child’s key person if their wellies still fit etc so we are ready for the Autumn!

Toddlers

Toddlers have had a great month with the arrival of their caterpillars which we loved watching turn into butterflies. The children did some observational paintings of the butterflies too! Dragonflies have been using loose parts to create scenes for their small world and we have been bug hunting in the front garden too!

Pre-School

We have had a lovely month saying goodbye to lots of our friends moving to school and making more memories together. We had a visit from one of our Mums who is a Dentist, who kindly came and showed the children how to brush their teeth. They also played games with her and she kindly gave them all their own battery operated toothbrushes!

We have also been exploring the woodland at the front of the nursery with Cathy making our own bug homes out of branches.
