Babies have been happily exploring our new sensory room, where they were fully engaged by stacking, building, and making sounds with the various resources provided. This stimulating environment encourages their curiosity and supports their development in a fun and interactive way.
They then used torches to explore their shadows, carefully placing the torches on the ground and observing how their hand shadows stretched and moved across the ceiling. After that, we raised the torches higher up so they could look closely at the different resources and objects underneath the shadows, sparking their curiosity and making the experience even more engaging.
Pre School 3 have been wonderfully inspired by the artist George Seurat and his unique technique of pointillism in his beautiful paintings. The children have been experimenting by using a variety of different materials and tools of various sizes to create their very own imaginative and colourful artwork.
Toddlers have been eagerly exploring the process of making marks using air-dried clay. They enjoyed experimenting with a variety of different tools to see the unique textures and patterns they could create. They then used leaves to create marks by pressing down on them, following on from this they then used their tools to create marks that looks like their own leaves.
Toddlers also enjoyed their trip to the aerospace museum. They explored interactive games to learn how the planes fly as well as watch videos and see how the planes used to look. The toddlers also enjoyed a visit on the Concorde where they walked through the plane as it used to be.
The Toddlers have been exploring their creativity; they had access to a mixture of colours and used brushes to apply to the paint on to reused plastic. Some of the children said they painted shapes, houses and their family, we extended their vocabulary once they expressed what they were painting.
Pre-School skill is “name awareness and recognition”. So far, our children have fished through the water tray collecting letters, matched letters to the letters in their names and had a go at naming letters independently. Some of the children wanted to challenge themselves even further by writing their names. We used salt and paintbrushes to have a go at copying the shapes of the letters we needed to write our names!
We would like to welcome new staff to our team!
