Recent updates…

We have some bittersweet news to share. Lucie, who has been a wonderful member of our Pre School 3 team, is moving on to work in a school. We wish her all the best in this new adventure. Her last day will be this Friday.

Chef Katie has also left us to prepare for the arrival of her baby. We send her and her family our warmest wishes and look forward to meeting the newest member soon! Lisa has joined us in our kitchen to continue Katie's hard work preparing the lovely food for our children.

Additionally, Honey and Jenny, who have been fantastic members our baby room team, have now progressed to new roles in preschool. Jenny is leading the Pre School 1 team, and Honey has joined the Pre School 3 team — we are excited to see their continued growth. Ellouise has made the decision to move back to her previous role as a teacher in Preschool 1. Elise will also be moving to Preschool 3 as she prepares for her assessment to be a qualified practitioner.

Congratulations to Maddie and Hannah on becoming fully qualified practitioners!

Please note, parents' evening will be held on 24th and 25th September. Sign-up sheets will be available on the desk shortly, with appointment slots. Please sign up if you would like to meet with your child’s key worker.

We are also looking forward to our annual spooky s’mores event on Wednesday 29th October from 5:30 to 7pm. We would love for you and your little ones to join us, especially if they fancy dressing up! All family members are welcome.

Finally, we are delighted to welcome new team members Ellie and Lola, who will be joining our preschool and baby room as apprentices and Ellie who has previously worked at our Shirehampton site. Ellie will be joining our baby room team. Also, a huge welcome to Charlotte who will be joining our Toddler 2 team. Elise will join our administrative team.

We look forward to sharing these exciting times with you.

Babies have been joyfully exploring their outdoor environment, engaging with a wide range of different activities. These include washing baby dolls and toy animals, playing exciting games of hide and seek, carefully bug hunting, enthusiastic stamping, planting seeds, and nurturing their physical development through walking, standing, and riding bikes.

Toddlers have also been happily practicing empathy and kindness, as they learn about the different body parts on a baby. Throughout this engaging activity, they have been exploring new resources such as dummies and bottles, helping them to develop care and understanding in a fun and nurturing way. In the activity the adults were singing songs to the babies and then washing and drying them after finishing.

Toddlers 2 have been exploring “all about me” they were exploring their height, practicing numbers and their number recognition as they counted the number up to work out how tall they are. Following from this, they also expanded their learning about themselves and used the mirrors to create some self portraits. The children said the colour of their eyes and hair as well as recognising the shapes they needed to draw to create their self portraits.

Pre School 1 have been very busy and actively engaged in joining different craft activities. They have been exploring a variety of shapes on paper using sponges and paint, allowing their creativity to flow freely. Building on this exciting week, they then had the opportunity to create their own pretend cement by using shaving foam along with other craft materials. The children enjoyed pretending to glue and stick these resources together, making their own unique and imaginative creations.

Pre School 2 have been enthusiastically exploring with colours and paints, joyfully mixing different shades to discover what new and exciting colours they can create. They have also been incorporating a variety of fun and interesting resources into their painting activities, such as shaving foam, vibrant food colouring, and even toy cars, which adds an extra layer of creativity and excitement to their learning experience!

Pre School 3 have been busy planting seeds as part of their exciting gardening project. They designed their own unique plant pots using recycled materials and colourful pens to create something truly special. After completing their beautiful pots, they went outside to the garden where, using spades carefully, they added soil and planted their seeds. They are eagerly looking forward to watching their flowers grow and bloom over the next few weeks!

We have also had an exciting and joyful visit from Jo Jingles! Each age group was absolutely thrilled to welcome the special guest, eagerly dancing and singing along with the lively puppet throughout the session!
