It's beginning to feel a bit like Christmas..... (too early?)

We have a busy couple of weeks coming up so make sure your calendar is up to date with all we have going on! I also have exciting news to share about the new year and who will be coming to sit in the hot seat while myself and Lauren are off having babies.

So let’s start with filling up the calendar

3rd December- We have the lovely Janey who will be coming in to do some very special story telling with the children, getting us in the festive mood. She will be bringing along her little elf friend to tell us all about when the elf helped a poor old cobbler- I think you know the story but look forward to your little one coming home and telling you all about it.

10th December- We shall be hosting our Christmas parties! all the children are welcome so please come and join the fun if your child does not attend this day or you are more than welcome as a parent to join in the fun with your child. Giraffe room will be hosting there Christmas party a little earlier than the other rooms so theirs will start at 2pm until 3pm while the rest of the nursery will have theirs from 3pm. Of course Father Christmas will be coming along with gifts for all the children and their will be lots of yummy food and games.

13th December- Is the day I will be saying a very fond farewell to you all for a while but I am going out with a bang!

Kerry and Jayne will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen- christmas dinner all round including all the trimmings and of course party hats! I can’t wait!

It will also be Christmas jumper day so please let your child come in super festive gear and help us raise some pennies for Save the Children.

16th December- For our pre-school parents Is the date of our nativity, this is a different date than first proposed so sorry for any disruption this may have caused. Our nativity is held up in the school hall and you should be receiving your invite which will include which part your child is playing (eekk exciting). If you haven’t had yours yet please ask your child’s keyworker.

24th December- is our last day open of the year! and then we will reopen on the 2nd January ready to start the New year with a bang (well apart from me who will be snuggled up with my new arrival).

New beginnings

So with not long left here in my lovely little Snapdragons bubble, it is time for me to introduce you to the lovely Kayleigh who will be taking my spot for a little while. I hope to say goodbye to you all individually over my last week here ( w/c 9 december) but if I do not get the chance, I have just loved working with all the families here and getting to know you all, it will be so strange not seeing everyone everyday and I will miss it greatly.

Kayleigh has worked for Snapdragons for many years, working across the age groups and is a Mother herself so has plenty of experience to take on the role. I am sure she will settle into the team in no time.

Gemma will be taking over for Lauren when she goes on maternity leave in February but we have been very lucky she has already been able to start so she has plenty of time to get to know the ins and outs of the nursery and your little people.

Recycling at nursery

At snapdragons we really are passionate about our carbon footprint and what we can do to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We recycle as much of our waste as we can and have also written an article all about how we plan to move forward with being green in our nursery magazine. Did you know you can bring your child’s food pouches here to nursery and then we can send them off, please feel free to bring them at drop off and pop them into the basket in the reception area.

Nursery Magazine

The new addition is out now! please feel free to take a copy from the reception area. You will find some great articles around what all the different nurseries have been up to, recipes of what we serve the children and lots more. Well worth a read so please feel free to grab a copy or head over to our website www.snapdragonsnursery.com .

Staff nominations for our Christmas party

We all love a Christmas party whether it is here at the nursery with the children or at our big Snappy Christmas bash where each year we celebrate our colleagues who have gone above and beyond their role and we think are just ace. The staff have been nominating each other for The Christmas Snappy Awards for many years but this year we have asked for your input too, I believe you will have received an email from Lisa our parents liaison but if you haven’t and this is something you would like to do please come and ask. For those of you who already have done this for us, thank you so much.
