SUMMER AT BROADWOOD
School leavers
It’s that time of year and sadly we say goodbye to our school leavers! We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best of luck in your new schools!
Our school leaver graduation ceremony is taking place on Saturday 6th July for our school leavers and their families! We hope to see you then! 11:00am-1:00pm.
Team news
Sadly we say goodbye to some familiar faces over the coming months
Gemma will be departing our toddler team to pursue her career in midwifery. Something she has long been passionate about. She leaves us in August.
Polly our office administrator and Afterschool club team member, will be leaving in August. She is leaving to pursue a role working within Administration and accounts.
Denise from our breakfast club sadly leaves us in August.
We would like to say a massive welcome to Dylan who has joined our baby room team. He is a Level 3 qualified staff member who has previously worked with us to complete placements.
As always if you have any queries or questions please feel free to contact us at any time.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Recently we have noticed some parents letting other parents into the nursery. Please can we ask that you DO NOT let anyone into the nursery, even if you know them. This is to protect the safety and security of all the children in the setting. If there is someone outside the door when you need to leave please grab a member of staff who will be happy to help.
Please do not be offended if this is the case or if a member of staff gently reminds you not to do so!

Hot weather!
The days are definitely starting to get warmer and here at Broadwood we like to get out and about as much as possible!
With this in mind can we please remind all parents to provide a labelled bottle of suncream and a sunhat, along with weather appropriate clothing!
Outdoor play is an important part of the children’s positive development and encourages and supports not only their physical development but also their creativity and imaginative play!
Learning focus
This month we are focusing on Physical Development here at Broadwood and our focus stories are
“The Gruffalo”
“Where The Wild Things Are” and
“Dear Zoo”
We would love for you to get involved at home, have a read of the chosen books, or choose some yourselves, and you can chat with your child key person about activities you could do to encourage Physical Development at home as well! Don’t forget you can upload your photos to parent zone so we can see what fun you have!!
Holiday club
We are running our summer holiday club between 29th July and 30th August (excluding bank holidays) and the days are fast filling up so please enquire ASAP if you wish to book!
Tim will be with us for week commencing 12th August to spend time with the children!
There will be all sorts of fun activities happening for the duration, including Forest activities and messy play so can we please remind parents not to send children in their best clothes!
Parents must provide-
a packed lunch for children (no nuts included)
a bottle of water (although water will be available on site as well)
A labelled bottle of suncream
weather appropriate clothing- such as hats, tshirts etc
Toddlers have had a smashing time this month and made their very own hammers with Tim!!
