August 2020
This month has seen the return of the majority of our staffing team and the children couldn’t be happier to see them. This has been particularly nice for our preschool children, giving them a chance to say goodbye to some of their favorite people before they head off to school on their next adventure.
Preschool have been having a great time in the sunny weather on a slip and slide in the garden, splashing about to keep them nice and cool and spending the days in our outdoor tents. In Toddlers they have been helping us keep all of their toys nice and clean, giving dollies a bath and taking the cars through the car wash. Whilst our Babies have managed to get out and about in the local area to see the sights.
Thank you NHS
We took a little trip this week to Bath RUH to watch the Spitfire fly over in honour of our amazing NHS heroes. Many of our parents work within the NHS and we would like to say a massive thank you for all of your hard work and dedication throughout the pandemic, you truly are heroes.
Norland Nannies
In previous years we have hosted trainee Norland nannies on placements in some of our nurseries to help them gain the practical experience they need to enhance their academic study. This year, of course, things have been a little different, but we hope that we may be able to welcome back another cohort of future Norland nannies to work with us as soon as it is appropriate and within our Covid19 safe operating procedures.
Norland students are primarily training to become nannies within the home and the Placement Manager at Norland is looking for families who would be able to offer a four-week placement. This could be a great opportunity if you have recently had a baby (or two or three!) and would appreciate some help and support with your new arrival. You would need to be at home at all times to supervise, so if you are on maternity or paternity leave it could work well for you. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact placements@norland.ac.uk.
Car park
The car park is getting increasingly busy at drop off and pick up times, please can I ask that unless absolutely necessary you try and avoid the busy times of the day and walk where possible. This will help reduce queuing times and maintain social distancing. Please ensure you are queuing to the left of the main entrance where the blue markers are, this keeps the remaining car parking spaces free to use.
Day nursery reviews
If you would like to share your positive experiences, we would love for you to complete a review for us with day nurseries, we have lots of review cards at the nursery or alternatively you can go to, https://www.daynurseries.co.uk/submitreview
September
From September the Preschool children will be back in their ‘normal’ rooms, we will still be using the Hall/ Parrot room on the busier days to ensure that we are maintaining social distancing and keeping numbers to a minimum in the rooms. All of the other procedures/practices will remain in place.
We are looking forward to welcoming everybody back in September, we have missed you.
