July
It is so lovely to have so many of you back with us and some new faces to and although our day to day is looking a little different it hasn’t stopped us from having fun (and a quick cuddle!!)
Social Distancing
With so many of you now back it means that drop off and collection time has got a little busier, which I am sure you may have noticed. The team and I are trying our best to ensure that handovers are as happening as quickly as possible to reduce the waiting times. Please can I ask that if you notice it is particularly busy that you wait in your car or go for a quick walk to reduce the queues and that you are still using the blue markers to social distance.
After School Club
Following the latest government guidance we had to make the difficult decision to keep our after school club closed in September.
If the guidelines are relaxed further or if the infection rate is absolutely minimal, it could be that we could reinstate the clubs at the beginning of October but we will await further guidance from the government and let you know as soon as possible.
Illness and Exclusion
We must all do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and so our grounds for exclusion are stricter than usual. Should your child present any of the below symptoms they will be removed from their bubbles and isolate with a member of staff in the office, you will be contacted to collect them as soon as possible.
Persistent cough
Temperature above 38 degrees
All members of the household must isolate until the child in question has received a negative test, proof of test results must be provided.
We understand that there are lots of colds and snotty noses at the moment, as well as hay fever and teething. However:
We are no longer administering any fever relief medication.
We will not accept any child in our care that has had pre existing fever relief medication.
We will administer an emergency dose if a child does present with a fever in our care but the child will be isolated and sent home immediately not within 4 hours
We always try our best to take such things into consideration but in these current times, we must air on the side of caution, so if you are aware that your child is showing any signs of the above symptoms please do not bring them to the nursery.
Donations
We are introducing more of a natural feel across the nursery influenced by the curiosity approach, if you have any of the following unwanted items at home, we would love to take them off your hands:
Wall Clocks
Pots, pans and utensils (wooden or metal)
Old photo frames
Artificial plants and flower pots
Small rugs and fabric
Old electrical items
Baskets
Figurines and trinkets
Old costume jewellery
It doesn’t have to be exactly what is listed but this is a general idea of what we would like. Thank you.
School Leavers
Many of you are asking for us to share which schools the preschool children are heading off to, in previous years we would have lists in the rooms for you to add your child’s name, school and last day to. This information can then be used to support the children in their transitions to school, sharing who may be in their class and reassuring them that they will have a familiar face join them in September. I have placed these lists outside of the nursery on a notice board in the alcove before the red front door, please do add your child’s name and school so that we can continue to share this information.
What have we been doing
We thought it would be nice to share some photos of what we have been up to since returning to nursery as you are unable to come in and see, we will share regular updates so you can see what fun we have been having – so enjoy these photos!!
