April Newsletter
We will be closed for the following bank holidays:
Monday 6th May and Monday 27th May
What have we been up to this month?
Babies
This month babies have been out and about in the garden and making the most of the outside resources.
They also had lots of fun with their big scale painting and managed to get some of it on the paper, not just themselves.
Toddlers
The toddlers have had sensory parties in their sleep room this month using glow sticks, they loved having a dance in the dark with just the glow sticks as light.
Old MacDonald was one of the books of the week during this month for the toddlers. They created a sensory farm with ‘farm mud’ and then added animals from the room that they felt belonged on a farm. As well as this, the toddlers were treated to a puppet show with their farm animal puppets.
Pre-School
During April, Jack and the beanstalk was one of the books of the week. Pre-school made their very own beanstalk and measured everyone’s height, marking it with a leaf that they had decorated themselves. They also made mini beanstalks using pipe cleaners and beads, adding leaves throughout.
Pre-school learnt about Ramadan and Eid this month and decorated their rooms with decorations they had made. They then used different tools to print stars and moons as well as using brushes to create the night sky by flicking paint on to their paper inspired by their discussion of the moon cycle. They then made some yummy Eid biscuits in the shape of moons and stars.
They also made their own sensory farm this month and used items from around their room to create it. They used soil from their veg patch supply and added green straw for the grass.
