About Shirehampton

Snapdragons Shirehampton at The Wylands is the jewel in the crown of historic Shirehampton Village.

Set just off the High Street, the magnificent red-brick mansion features charming French-style shutters, an ornate carved porch, and a full-height bay window at the front of the building, flooding the grand sweeping staircase with natural light at the heart of the nursery.

All the rooms are airy and bright, with original features complemented by modern comforts and contemporary white interiors. A children’s kitchen with low-level units is used by the children for baking and helping to prepare their own snacks.

The garden combines purpose-designed play equipment with a natural forest area, offering space for adventure and outdoor learning.

Jenna has worked for Snapdragons for nearly 8 years and started on the first day that Snapdragons Nursery Shirehampton opened in September 2016. Jenna has worked her way from the Head of Toddlers to Deputy Manager to Manager. Jenna is passionate about ensuring that every child has the best day possible through a variety of wonderful opportunities Snapdragons can provide. Jenna has completed a Foundation Degree in Early Years and is always excited for new training opportunities that arise. Jenna enjoys spending time with her partner and son on the weekend. When Jenna is not at work, you can normally find her in a different country enjoying the sun and soaking up the different culture.

Suzanne is the Deputy Manager and Head of Early Years Practice. Suzanne has worked at the company since April 2018, where she started and completed her apprenticeship in babies, before moving to the toddler floor to be the Room Leader. Suzanne's is passionate about supporting the apprentices, and ensuring the high level of practice is embedded in all age groups. Suzanne loves to travel and explore new places in the world. Her favourite Country that she has visited so far is America, where she got to watch her favourite NFL team play in New York.

Fee Increase

Fee increases may occur throughout the year. If there are any changes to your nursery fees, you will be given at least a month's notice of these.

Funding

For children attending sessions funded by the Early Years Entitlement, an Enhanced Provision Charge of £2.30 per funded hour will be applicable.

This charge covers everything that Snapdragons offers that is above and beyond the EYFS curriculum including meals and other consumables. The EPC is calculated for the whole funding period based on the total number of funded hours we will pass on in the term. This total charge will then be divided equally across the months covered by the funding period.

All children aged 3+ can claim 570 funded hours per year, working families may also be eligible for the working parent entitlement funding. For children who attend nursery on an all year round booking the funding is applied over 51 weeks of the year, up to a maximum or 11 or 22 funded hours per week dependant on eligiblity. If your child attends nursery on a term time only basis, the funding will be applied to your term time booking over 38 weeks of the year. This will work out as up to 15 funded hours per week or 30 dependant on your eligiblity.

Hours

Snapdragons is open from 08:00-18:00, Monday to Friday throughout the year. The full day session includes all meals. Flexible arrival and departure times can be arranged to suit individual needs at an additional fee. We're closed between Christmas and New Year and no fees apply.

TTO

Term-time only fees include a retainer charge for holiday periods. A discount will be applied to the sessions of full-time children, following any funding deductions. Discounts are also available for siblings.
