Soil Association Food for Life Gold

Soil Association Food for Life Served Here Gold logo
Children's Food Trust Award logo

Our menus are accredited by the Soil Association and the Children's Food Trust. The Soil Association awarded us their highest Food for Life Served Here mark - Gold - recognising organic ingredients, farm-assured meat, and local produce. We have also won Nursery World Best Nursery Food (2012 and 2014) and Nursery Chef of the Year.

Food for Life Gold also means:

  • Meat and dairy come from farms with high animal-welfare standards.
  • At least half of our ingredients come from local businesses.
  • Organic food supports wildlife - organic farms can host up to 50% more insects, birds and animals.
  • At least one meat-free day each week has cut our carbon emissions by 25%.

Local suppliers

We source as much as we can from local farms and producers, working with Lovejoys to deliver meat, vegetables and dairy across our nurseries. Buying local keeps food fresher, supports nearby businesses, and reduces the miles our ingredients travel.

  • Better for the environment - less transport, packaging, pollution and waste.
  • Better for the local economy - money stays in the area and supports local jobs.
  • Better for health - fresher food with improved nutrient levels.
