Our Staff Enrichment Day celebrated learning, collaboration and development.
Our Staff Enrichment Day saw our childcare team come together for a day of learning, reflection and professional development. Through engaging workshops and practical sessions, the team shared ideas, strengthened their knowledge and explored new ways to enhance experiences for the children in our care.

Our childcare team came together for a fantastic day of learning, reflection and professional development at our recent Staff Enrichment Day. The day provided a valuable opportunity for practitioners and leaders to strengthen their knowledge, share ideas, explore new approaches and reflect on how we can continue to provide the very best experiences for the children in our care. With a range of engaging workshops and practical sessions, there was something for everyone, from developing leadership skills to exploring creative learning opportunities and strengthening our understanding of safeguarding.
Leadership Workshop
Our managers explored how to build motivation and morale within their settings, navigate difficult conversations and embed a positive culture with clear expectations. Through practical tasks and reflection, they challenged their own leadership approaches and considered how they could further support, motivate and develop their teams.
Enabling Environments
This reflective and practical session explored how our environments can support children's learning and development across all age groups. Practitioners considered schemas, in-the-moment planning and the importance of visual resources, reflecting on how thoughtful environments can create meaningful learning opportunities for every child.

Interventions
Practitioners explored a range of practical strategies and resources to support children's communication, language and emotional regulation. The session highlighted the positive impact that targeted interventions and nurture groups can have on children's development and wellbeing, alongside training in Sunshine Circles and Attention Bucket.

Forest School
Our Forest School session offered an opportunity to explore the value of outdoor learning and the experiences it can provide for children. Alongside theory there were practical sessions teaching skills like safe use of tools and an awareness of our natural environment.
Art Workshop
The art workshop provided an opportunity to explore creativity and consider how artistic experiences can enrich children's learning and development. The focus was on process - immersing children in the sensory experiences that creativity naturally brings. Using open ended questions, practitioners can enable children to explore without expectations of the finished result.

Safeguarding
This interactive session refreshed practitioners' knowledge of reporting procedures and the use of forms for recording low-level concerns. Through discussion-based scenarios, the team explored the importance of information sharing, overcoming barriers to whistleblowing and having the confidence to speak up. A key message was that it is always okay to challenge, to trust your professional instincts and to act when something doesn't feel right.

Dingley’s Promise
A session focused on inclusive practice and supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), exploring how we can create positive experiences and ensure every child feels valued, supported and included.
Community Playthings: Blockwork
A practical session exploring the value of block play in children's learning and development, including how open-ended resources can encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and early mathematical thinking.

Apprenticeship Academy: Key Person and Attachment
Our apprentices explored different attachment styles and applied their learning through practical scenarios. Working collaboratively, they considered how the key person can support children through a variety of transitions, before presenting their ideas to the wider group. The session reinforced the importance of secure relationships and consistent support in helping children feel safe, settled and ready to learn.
Looking Ahead
Our Staff Enrichment Day was a wonderful opportunity to invest in our people, celebrate professional learning and strengthen our shared commitment to high-quality childcare. By taking time to reflect, collaborate and develop new skills, we can continue to create positive environments where our practitioners feel supported and our children can thrive.
A big thank you to everyone who planned, led and took part in the sessions, helping to make the day such a valuable and inspiring experience!
