Welcome to this months newsletter where we look over the month of May.

Baby Cottage

This month the babies have really enjoyed that the sun has been coming out to play! We have been doing lots of imaginative play, exploring the dolls and care routines, putting to bed and practising brushing teeth! We have also enjoyed natural resource play!

Baby Loft

This month has been busy and full of fun in Baby Loft we have loved meeting the baby ducklings, making our own snacks (banana oat bars), being able to get outside and enjoy the weather and making flower seed bombs to attract the wildlife to our garden. We’ve even had our snack in the garden a few times! We’ve also loved learning about different parts of our body using the brushes to tickle our arms and legs!

Toddlers

This month toddlers have been busy practising their fine motor skills, we used the pincers to pick up the pom-poms and match them to the correct colour! We also had a special delivery of some very delicate eggs! We had ducklings! The toddler loved going to say hello to the duckies on their way to the garden. We even got to hold them, toddlers were very lucky and got to watch the eggs hatch we had to be really quiet so we didn’t scare them! Toddlers really enjoyed looking after the ducklings.

Preschool

This month Preschool have enjoyed a walk around the garden to see what observational drawings we could draw, we drew the tall trees in the forest and the different flowers we found. We also found a snail! We have also been practicing our hand eye co ordination throwing bean bags and balls into hoops the same colour. Creating colours making our own gloop using pipettes to practice out fine motor skills.

News and Reminders

Summer Holidays - Please can we remind parents to make us aware when they are planning to take their summer holidays - It just means we wont be calling parents on their well deserved holidays asking where you are.

School Uniform Wanted - If you have any unwanted school uniform please could you kindly donate it so that our preschoolers can use it for role play as they prepare for their transition into school.

School Leaver Farm Trip - Our Preschool Leaver Farm trip letters will be given out this week - Can we please ensure you return your childrens slip as soon as possible so we can plan for the day.

Graduation - Our Preschool Leaver Graduation will be held on Saturday 27th July - 10.30am - 12pm. More information on the day will be to follow.

School Leaver Last Day - Now that we are approaching the last term - We just wanted to remind parents that our Term Time Only Funded children will finish on Friday 12th July. All other school leavers will finish by 31st August 2024. We want you to be aware that you are more than welcome to finish your children earlier for school however we require 4 weeks notice to any change in booking pattern and want to remind you that funding will not cover the whole month of August.

If you have any questions on when your funding will stop or want to know exact last dates for your children then please drop us an email and we can confirm this for you.

Ducklings

Over the month of May we were lucky to have some duckling eggs delievered and the children were able to watch them hatch over the following week. We were lucky enough to have 4 ducklings hatch (Bob, Peaches, Pascal and Daphne - All named by the children and Kira) as we watched the grow over the next week. The children were able to learn all about ducklings and learnt some incredible facts that even the adults didnt know before too!

We hope they brought a smile to all of your faces during drop off and pick up and they have now joined their forever home living with Jackie and Leslie.
