A very English looking summer

Updated Information

If your child develops coronavirus symptoms please keep them home, inform the nursery and book a PCR test as soon as possible. Please remember that LFD tests should not be used on children under the age of 5 or on anyone displaying symptoms.

If your child has a raised temperature, they must remain home until their acute symptoms are resolved and they have been 24 hours fever free (without needing fever reducing medication i.e. Calpol). This is regardless of whether you have a negative PCR result.

As soon as we are notified of a confirmed positive result for COVID-19 in our nursery we will inform all parents via email. We will let you know the age group and room that the case is based in and the date they were last in attendance. For confidentiality reasons we cannot share more information than this. The staff will undertake a deep clean of the room affected. The positive case will isolate, with their whole household, for 10 days. All other children are able to continue attending nursery as usual, provided they are well enough in themselves. Our staff members will continue taking their LFD tests and we will inform you of any further cases every time.

Sickness

Please can we remind all parents that if your child is unwell with any sickness or diarrhoea then they must be off nursery for a full 48 hours after their last episode to ensure they do not risk passing any infection on to others.

With such young children these kinds of illnesses do travel very quickly and I want to reassure you that all the staff teams are as vigilant as ever in their cleaning and hygiene practices.

As you will understand, we do insist that those children who do have sickness or diarrhoea must adhere to the 48 hour period, regardless of possible other explanations (i.e. teething, food reactions), as we need to ensure there is always a minimal risk of transmission between the children and the staff.

We thank you all for being so understanding with these matters as we are trying to keep everyone as happy and healthy as we can.

Nursery Update

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back into the nursery to meet all of our staff and admire the environments where the children play. On that note, we have found that children are settling in much easier in the mornings when they are dropped off with their key person at the nursery entrance. We propose keeping this in place but still welcoming you into the nursery to collect your child at the end of the day. As we get into the more wet months, we don’t expect you to stand out in that weather so we will invite you in then to do our quick handovers! We would like to start welcoming you into the nursery to collect your child from

Monday the 6th of September.

As many of our staff are not yet at the age to have received both of their vaccinations (or even their first) we would like to request that masks remain in place during handovers for the time being to allow us to continue protecting our staff as much as possible.

We would like to thank you all, once again, for all of your support over the last year. Here’s to a brighter 2021 and hopefully a more normal 2022!

Events

We are so excited that hopefully very soon we will be able to start celebrating events again at the nursery. We are hoping to start planning some things for the upcoming months so keep an eye out on our monthly newsletter for the details of what’s to come.

Welcome Back

With the restrictions lifting we are finally able to start getting back to some normality again. We are so happy to be able to announce we are now inviting you to come and visit the nursery for anyone who started throughout lock down or just never got a chance to see inside our rooms. If you send a message to our Grosvenor email

grosvenor@snapdragonsnursery.com

We would love to book a time for you to come and see the amazing environments you’ve been missing out on.

Official Graduation Details

We have now been able to secure a date and time that works to get as many of you involved for this special day. We will be holding the preschool graduation on

Friday August 20th at 3pm in our nursery’s garden.

Our graduation day will consist of a medal and certificate ceremony run by our preschool team followed by a special treat to take with you on your way out. As we cannot have a BBQ this year we ask that once all the medals and certificates are given out and you have managed to get any pictures you would like that your treat is collected and you say your goodbyes. As this is going to be done in the afternoon we will still have all the other children attending and will need to be ready for pickup time. We appreciate everyone’s understanding with this event as we understand in previous years it was celebrated a lot differently. We will make the most of the day with the circumstances we are in and luckily the children only really remember the medal and treats they were given anyways.

Rhyme and Story of the month

Stories:

Make sure you have your walking shoes with you this month as “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” is our book of the month. What kind of things will we find as we go on this adventure and, hopefully, catch a “BIG ONE”.

Rhymes:

Our counting continues as we discover how many animals we can get in the bed while we sing ‘Ten in the Bed’.

A few other rhymes we will be singing within nursery this month (and you will probably be hearing in the back seat of your car) are

  • Round and Round the Garden

  • The Hokey Cokey

  • I had a Little Turtle
