Rhymes for the Month

The rhymes we will be practising for the month are….

'Ten Green Bottles’

'Tractor, Tractor Big and Blue’

'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’

Sunshine in the Garden

With the summer months approaching we will have more days of beautiful weather (hopefully very soon). When the sun is shining, we try and do as many activities outside with the children as possible as who doesn't love being out in the fresh air and warm sunshine. With that being said, we want everyone to be as protected as possible so packing the appropriate clothing for your child to wear out to the garden would be much appreciated. That includes labelled sun hats and bringing in your own labelled sun cream as we are no longer supplying nursery sun cream.

Mask Wearing Reminder

Just a friendly reminder as the restrictions are slowly lifting, we do still require everyone to be wearing masks for drop off and pick up. Very soon we hope to be able to tell you they are not required anymore, and we will be able to see all your smiling faces again. We understand that it isn’t always enjoyable, but we have really appreciated everyone’s efforts in this.

Sickness

Summertime and colds don’t go nicely together so, to keep the nursery a bug free zone, we ask that if your child isn’t feeling well or not acting themselves to please keep them home in our efforts to prevent anything spreading. Children are currently not permitted to attend nursery if they have had Calpol or any other medicine that may disguise a temperature. If they have had a temperature within 24 hours of coming to nursery they need to be tested and have had a negative result come back and sent through to us before they can return. We have also been informed that ‘mottled’ skin and sickness may be symptoms of COVID-19 so you may be asked to get a test should your child present any of these symptoms. If you are required to get tested, please be aware that we do not accept the lateral flow test results. Anything that we can do to keep your children happy and, most importantly healthy, is our number one priority.

Book of the Month

Skipping through the forest this month to Grandma’s we go, with ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. Our new interactive story cards allow for many endings and changes to our story as we get to explore all the different scenarios which come to mind whilst telling the story.

Who will Little Red Riding Hood meet?

Will the Wolf get to eat Grandma before we get there?

This will all be determined by the creative minds who join us for story time this month in the nursery.
