December 2020
Books of the month
Grab your best dancing shoes because we’re reading ‘The Elves and The Shoemaker’. And, “Look, tracks in the snow, whose are these tracks and where do they go?” Come and find out with us as we read ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’
Hello and Goodbye
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Suzannah in Pre-School at the beginning of December. We wish her all the best on her next adventure! However, we also have two lovely new faces to welcome to the Team!
Please say hello to, Poppy, our new Pre-School Apprentice …
and Chloe our new Baby room Apprentice.
Congratulations!
A massive well done to Lauren Read who has been promoted to our new Deputy Head of Pre-School! Some of you may already know Lauren from the baby room and will be sad to see her go, but we are so excited for her to join the Pre-School team in January!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Christmas is fast approaching, and we are feeling festive. The staff will be wearing Christmas attire throughout the month of December and you are all invited to do the same.
We will be having a mini–Christmas Party on Thursday 17th December, where there will be dancing, games and food. Unfortunately, like our Halloween party, this will be limited to children due in on that day.
Christmas closing dates
Don’t forget that we will be closed from the 25th December to the 1st January for Christmas, back in on 4th January. If your child is due to attend nursery on Christmas Eve, but you know that they will not be, or that they will be attending a shorter session, then please let us know so we can staff the day appropriately.
What have we been up to?
Sadly, we couldn’t have our annual ‘Sparklers and S’mores’ bonfire party this year, so toddlers enjoyed hot chocolate around the ‘fire’ and created their own fireworks!
Cosy!
Beautiful artwork
We have had lots of fun doing ‘Sunshine Circles’ across the nursery - helping the children understand their emotions and increase their confidence!
