We are pleased to share that we recently celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week with the children, engaging in a variety of activities centred around this year’s theme, “This Is My Place”. These activities aimed to encourage the children to express themselves and feel confident in their environment. Additionally, we are excited to introduce a new sound bath in our toddlers’ sleep room. This tranquil space provides the children with an opportunity to breathe, relax, and unwind during their time here at Snapdragons.
Our babies and toddlers had the wonderful opportunity to explore the new sound bath. To ensure each child could fully enjoy the experience, small groups were brought in at a time, allowing them to participate in gentle, calming meditation sessions. They were able to lie down comfortably and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing rest, with soothing sounds helping to promote their calmness and well-being.
Preschool 1 were excited to take part in a wonderful activity, the children have been enjoying recently. It involves a "well-being potion" where they explore and express their feelings by discussing quantities related to their emotions. The children are mixing "emotions sand" and linking their feelings to colours, which helps them understand and communicate how they are feeling. They also have opportunities to share what makes them happy with their peers, fostering a sense of connection and emotional awareness.
Preschool 3 had a wonderful time exploring our bodies. They used a skeleton model to identify different bones and learn their names, which was fun. After their activity, the children enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation time listening to calming music, helping them to unwind.
This month, our toddlers have been focusing on developing their physical skills. The team has organised a variety of engaging activities, including throwing bean bags at targets and climbing through a maze inside the room. These activities are designed to support the growth of their gross motor abilities in a fun and supportive environment.
This week in Preschool 2, the children have been engaging in a fun colour matching activity. They selected coloured cards and then searched for lollipop sticks that matched their chosen colours. Afterwards, they practised counting how many sticks they had, helping to develop their colour recognition and early numeracy skills.
We would like to extend a big thank you and congratulations to Lisa and Clara from our kitchen team for achieving a five-star rating in our recent food inspection. A huge thank you to Katy who has been supporting the kitchen during our busy times.
We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Katie, our Pre School 1 practitioner, has welcomed a healthy baby boy named Billy. We send her our warmest congratulations and best wishes during this special time.
