Dates for the diary…
We are delighted to invite you to our Pre-School Graduation celebration on 19th July from 10:30am to 12:30pm. This special event marks the achievements of our children as they prepare to start school this September. The celebration will feature a variety of fun activities and the graduation ceremony. Please remember to bring a picnic and a picnic blanket for a relaxed and enjoyable time. Kindly note that only two adults per child are permitted to attend. We look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone with you!
Additionally, on Monday 21st July, we will be holding a parents’ evening for our school leavers. This is a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s transition to school with their keyworker. To book an appointment, please visit the front desk.
End of term for term time only children is Friday 11th July
Reminders…
With the weather forecast staying hot and sunny, please can we remind you to bring labelled, sun cream, sun hats and a water bottle. If possible can we ask you to put suncream on before coming into nursery, we are avoiding the hottest parts of the day and therefore sometimes are going to the garden straight from breakfast.
Preschool 3 have learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We have excitedly received our own caterpillars, which the children have been curiously looking through the container to see what the caterpillars have been doing. We have noticed them eating lots of food and moving around inside the container. We are looking forward to see what happens next. Preschool 3 were very excited when we noticed 5 butterflies had hatched from their chrysalis’. We have been very interested in watching each part of the cycle. We have released our butterflies outside and excitedly watched them fly away 🦋
Babies and toddlers have been exploring healthy eating habits this month, enthusiastically trying a variety of fresh fruits and even making delicious smoothies together. When getting back they developed their self help skills by independently using our children’s knives to cut the fruit and then help the practitioners use the blender.
The children were also very excited to visit the local supermarket, where they had the chance to discover many different types of fruits and then choose some to buy and enjoy!
Preschool have also been learning about healthy eating this month, cutting up a variety of different fruits and carefully preparing their own nutritious snacks. This hands-on activity not only helps develop their self-help skills and fosters greater independence, but also reinforces important lessons about maintaining a balanced and healthy diet.
Toddlers have been conducting a little science experiment, making ice creams using shaving foam, water, and vibrant food colouring. They carefully used pipettes to practice their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, which helped them develop precision and control. It was fascinating to watch as the food colouring traveled through the water, creating beautiful patterns and allowing the children to explore early mark making in a fun and interactive way.
Preschool brought the beach indoors! They set up trays filled with separate sections of water and sand. The children were then invited to add various resources into the trays, encouraging them to explore and interact using either their hands or their feet. This hands-on activity sparked curiosity and creativity in a safe and engaging environment.
We also had a very special visitor at the end of May. Emma kindly brought her beautiful horse, Dorris, into the nursery and spent time talking to the children about the different parts of the horse’s body, what they like to eat, and how she carefully trains Dorris. The children were absolutely delighted and got the wonderful opportunity to gently touch and stroke Dorris’s soft coat!
