Autumn has arrived

Welcome to our Blog

Well didn’t that Summer just fly by! and we have hit the ground running here at Corsham. Here you will be able to see any upcoming events or news at the nursery, we will be updating it monthly or if anything exciting has happened and we want to share it with you! It is a busy couple of months so have a read through and add those dates to the calendar.

New term new us

As some of you may be aware my daughter made the big step of starting school this year and this has meant that I have adjusted my working hours slightly. I will be here every morning to greet you but I will be finishing at 2.30 two days a week so Lauren will be available for you on those days, if you have any problems or wanted a chat and of course our wonderful Lynda is too. We are also super excited to announce that Amy has been promoted to Early Years Teachers after completing her degree over the last year here with us and has also taken on the big job of SENCO as well, so super trio here we come. Amy is happy to talk through any questions you might have about your childs development or learning journey, she will normally be found down in the Crocodile room or the office but just shout if you would like to see her.

Some new faces around the place

You may have noticed we have had some new staff start with us over the summer and I thought now would be a good time for me to introduce you to them all…..

Jennie has lots of wonderful experience having worked in childcare for quite sometime and has even run a baby room. Jennie will be working in our Elephant/Wallaby room on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Having a child herself and all this knowledge Jennie is great at giving advice, I know she has already settled in brilliantly.

Gemma has moved from the kitchen helping Christine in the afternoon to working in the rooms with the children. After spending time in the nursery she found a real passion for childcare and is already adored by the children here so we are really excited to have her join the Elephant/Wallaby room team on a Thursday and Friday. She will be completing her apprenticeship with us.

Nicole has started with us from having spent a year at college and is now looking forward to completing her qualifications here at nursery. She will be working full time in our Chimp room. She can often be found outside running around laughing with the children and has a real passion for what she does.

Gina has started working for us after having her second child, she loved parenthood and found that this was something she wanted to expand on so has taken on an apprenticeship . She will be working mainly in our Chimp room but will also support in our Elephant/Wallaby room as this really helps with children transitioning in the nursery.

Ellie has come to us straight from university after completing her foundation degree in Early years. Ellie will be working in our Giraffe room full time and has already settled in brilliantly. She also has completed some forest school training that we will be taking full advantage of.

Our term with Tim

We have the joy of Tim with us up until Christmas and we will be making the most of his time here with us! He will be taking a group out to the woods once a week so that all the pre-schoolers will get the opportunity to go out for some fun. During the afternoons he will be doing some wonderful activities with our other age groups, he has already spent sometime in our baby garden adding some fun new things for them to play with and a lovely cosy spot to share some stories.

Food Collection

Over the last few years we have been collecting non perishable food for our local food bank and we would love your support on this again. You were all so generous last year and it was amazing to be able to take as much food as we did. We will be taking donations through the month in the foyer on the small table. Then at the end of the month we will take our pre-school children over to Lacock church to donate the food and Reverend Beaumont will do a small harvest festival service with the children.

Dates for the Diary

Concept Photography next week 9th Tuesday and 10th Wednesday

If you would like to bring siblings along you are more than welcome to drop in or book a slot here in the office. All the children will have their pictures taken unless you request they don’t and there is no obligation to buy.

Spooks and Sparkles Party 1st November 6pm-7pm

This is always a really fun event and a great way to celebrate the change in season and the darker nights. There will be some fun halloween themed activities, a disco, yummy autumnal grub and of course some sparklers! Everyone is welcome including siblings and of course feel free to get dressed up!

Parents Evening

The sheets for parents evening will be going up on the doors over the next week or so it is a lovely opportunity to have a chat with your childs key person and have a catch up on how your child is getting on.

Magazine

The new magazine has landed and you can find yourself a copy in our foyer, as always it is full of the things we have been up to alongside some great articles, please feel free to help yourselves.
