Welcome back to Broadwood!
A big welcome back to all of our term time only children! We hope you all had a fantastic Easter and are ready and excited for a new term here at Snapdragons Broadwood!
Team news
There’s been a couple of changes to the team over the last couple of weeks, and we are excited to welcome Sophie to the baby team as a permanent member of staff. She will be working Monday to Friday 8-3. She has worked with us a Lunchtime assistant for the last few years so you will have seen her about the nursery!
We would also like to welcome Georgia to our Breakfast club team, and she will be working Monday to Friday term time only within breakfast club. As a previous parent of Snapdragons she knows the nursery well so make sure you say hello when you see her!
This month we say goodbye to Becky from our baby room who is leaving us on 15th May to go on maternity leave! We would like to wish her and her family all the best… we can’t wait to meet her little one!
Sadly we also say goodbye to Sarah from our after school club team on May 7th who leaves us to explore pastures new and further her career in childcare. We would like to wish her the best of luck for the future.
Holi Festival
Holi is the Hindu festival that welcomes the Spring and celebrates the new life and energy of the season. It took place in March this year and we had a special visit from Janey, one of our Early Years Advisory Teachers, who came along to teach the children all about it!
Holiday club
We had great fun at holiday club during the Easter break and we are now taking bookings for our Holiday club in May. We are open Tuesday 28th to Friday 31st. If you would like to book your little one in for any sessions please contact the office.
Parent’s evening
Will take place on Wednesday 29th May and appointments will be available between 6:15 and 8:00pm. If you would like to book in a slot for your little one then please speak with your child’s key person to do so.
For any school leavers there will be a seperate parents evening in June, date to be confirmed.
Dates for the diary
Bank holiday’s - Monday 6th May, Monday 27th May- both happening here at Broadwood and we are open as normal
May half term - Monday 27th to Friday 31st- all term time only children will be off this week.
Babies
It’s been a busy month in the baby room and we’ve been learning all about the world around us… see what we’ve been up to
Toddlers
Toddlers have been hard at work this month creating some fantastic self portraits….
and exploring lots of different messy play activities!
Preschool
In preschool we were making the most of the warm weather with some exciting water play…
We also created some Easter art using shaving foam and paints to make some funky patterns!
Weather
It’s definitely warming up again now so can we please remind all parents to provide a labelled bottle of sunscreen and sun hats, so we can ensure we are still able to get out and about in the garden!
