Another month done! Where has the time gone!?
This month we have had the pleasure of having our forest school leader, Natalie, with us. Not only has she been busy carving away at piles of wood to make our gardens beautifully curious, but she has also treated the children to a few surprises! Pre-school put on their wellies and took a trip to Westonbirt Arboretum where they had a little hunt for the Gruffalo. Unfortunately, he was a bit too quick and got away before they could catch him! Toddlers visited Bath City Farm where they met some animals and took a stroll through some long wavy grass.
As well as this all of the children have been getting stuck in with day to day forest school activities such as painting with berries, apple picking and even cutting some wood! You may have been lucky enough to take some of these apples home!
What have we all been up to?
Babies have been exploring their love of the outdoors this month. They got really stuck in to the berry bashing and using them to create beautiful pictures.. some may say the pictures tasted quite nice too! They have been rolling apples down gutters full of paint and using the outdoors to work on their motor skills, we may have seen a few babies take a few of their first steps!
Toddlers have been delving in to the gingerbread man which they chose as their book of the month. They have been busy reading, acting out and exploring the story in all different ways! They especially loved the sensory play using sand and cutters to make their very own gingerbread shapes. They practiced sharing, and taking turns.
Pre-school have also been busy exploring their book of the month, they chose the very hungry caterpillar! They know the story so well they have almost run out of activities! They have cut their own fruit very carefully to make their own fruit kebabs for snack, they have indulged in cherry pie, made a caterpillar post box and fed him the correct amount of each fruit AND painted their own butterfly pictures using symmetry printing. Gosh they have been busy!
