Month in Pictures

Babies

Our youngest children have had a few new friends join this month, Its a big step but they have helped to make their new friends feel at home. With the better weather we had some al fresco snacks and explored the larger garden space. We have enjoyed having Nat with us and taking part in lots of forest school session, watch this space she is making us a swing.

Toddlers

Our toddlers have been exploring their senses through different scented playdough and baking to ice cube water play. Our two years old can find it tricky at times to navigate their emotions but our wonderful practitioners provide them lots of support and help them to name and understand these through stories and games, our Polar Bear children love the colour monster book and have been incredibly creative making their own versions of each monster.

Preschool

Down in preschool many of the children are preparing for the their next adventure at school, we have had some visits from their new teachers and looked at the different uniforms each of them may get to wear. We have been developing our independence and serving our own meals from start to finish with very little help form our grown ups. Outside we have been planting lots of new seeds and extending our vegetable patch, the children can’t wait to see what grows.

  3. To finish, tear a few basil leaves, then stir into the sauce.

Session Times

I would just like to politely remind everyone that our session times run from 8am until 6pm, These are the times that my fantastic team start and finish for the day. We have seen a bit of an increase in parents picking up at 6pm or just after. If you require a detailed handover of your child’s day we do ask that you collect before 6pm to allow the team time to chat to you before they finish at 6pm. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Misplaced Items and Special toys

Whilst we try our absolute hardest to keep clothing and toys safe, it can be quite tricky at times. Please could you help us by ensuring that all items of clothing have your childs name clearly labelled. Along with items of clothing toys can be easily misplaced in a nursery full of them. We do encourage that all toys other than comforters are left at home.

Dates for your Diary

Pre-school leavers graduation - Saturday, August 3rd. 9:30-10:30

Charity summer fete - Wednesday, August 14th. 18:00-19:30

Charity Summer Fate

As many of you may remember we support the Jessie May Trust. You may have seen or even participated in the ‘giving tree’ over the festive period.

We are excited to tell you that we will be hosting a charity summer fete to raise more funds for this fantastic trust.

This will be taking place in the pre-school garden on Wednesday, August 14th from 18:00 until 19:30, weather permitting. Although we would love to invite as many people as possible, we are limited to the space we have available so kindly ask that if you plan to attend, you limit the numbers in attendance to your household.

During the evening there will be multiple activities, some for optional donations whilst others not. One of these being a charity raffle. Tickets will be available week commencing July 29th for £5 a strip. We have a variety of prizes, ranging from one free nursery session for existing families to a Manchester football signed by the very talented Jack Grealish. Other prizes consist of beauty treatments, gift cards, alcohol, and memberships but we won’t spill it all. Got to leave some element of surprise! If you or anybody in your family have a small business that you’d like to promote through offering a prize, we would love to accept it.

We hope to see you there.

Warleigh Lodge Farm

Our pre-school leavers had an egg-cellent time feeding the animals, exploring nature, and bumping up and down on the big red tractor at Warleigh Lodge Farm.

July Jokes

Here is a joke one of our pre-schoolers told everyone whilst exploring the fields of Warleigh Lodge Farm.

Q: Why couldn’t the Cow cross the road?

A: Because he couldn’t moove.

And another one from pre-school.

Q: What did the cookie do when it fell over?

A: It crumbled.
