February Newsletter 2025

Our teaching toolkit (Our curriculum) is set across ten themes, each month we focus on a different area. This months teaching toolkit focus was:
Develop self help skills, f
or the children to be capable and proud of increasing independence and Make their mark. This encourages children to be willing to have a go and explore mark making.

What have we been up to this month?

Babies have been getting in the Valentines Day spirit and making some lovely heart pictures using the play dough cutters. They used good hand eye-coordination to dip their cutters in the paints, and put it on their paper. They are beautiful babies, well done! The babies also went for a trip to the sensory room to look at all of the colourful lights and blocks. They did some great stacking and rolling, and even had a little party with the glow sticks.

Toddlers have been practicing their gross motor skills using the bikes and scooters in the garden. The toddlers have been doing really well pedaling for themselves. We even took a trip out on our buggy bus to have a walk aroundthe village. The toddlers have also been to the children’s kitchen a lot this month. They have been practicing their mixing and stirring to make yummy foods for their snack.

Pre-school has been learning about oral health this month. We have been cleaning pictures of teeth, and discussing the importance of this. Pre-school really enjoyed this and we are keen to extend this interest by trying to find a dentist to come and speak to the pre-school children. If you know of anyone that may come in and speak to the children, please do let us know and we can get them booked into the calendar.

Nominate a Star

Is there a staff member that you would like to be acknowledged for all their hard work this year or someone who you would just like to thank? At Snapdragons we run a reward scheme for our employees, nominations from parents mean stars for the staff that can go towards a range of different rewards and prizes which can include sweet treats, hampers, meal vouchers and even a trip to the spa, so if you would like to reward the staff remember to fill in the online form sharing your lovely words.
