This month we celebrated Halloweenas part of a whole nursery event Spooks and S’mores. It was so lovely for our families to join us for spooky activities, dress up fun and yummy s’mores on the fire.
Baby Cottage have been exploring patterns, textures and making marks. Using paints, sand, play dough, shaving foam, pencils and paper to experiment with mixing colours and feeling the different textures as well as creating their own patterns and shapes while drawing, painting and making marks in the shaving foam and sand. We also explored this by creating a pudsey bear sensory tray to celebrate children in need!
Baby Loft This month baby loft have been marking remembrance by getting creative with their own poppy art both indoors and out. We’ve also been reading lots of stories together and finding fun ways to keep more active in this cold weather… slide dancing and peekaboo anyone? Baby loft can’t wait for the winter festivities to begin!
Toddlers This month Toddlers spoke about Remembrance Day, and we made marks to create our poppies. We headed outside and explored the mud kitchen, using our imaginations we made lots of our favourite foods. Back inside we worked together to create our own obstacle course where we could promote turn taking and our physical development, we also went bug hunting, we used our magnifying glasses to help find those creepy crawlies that might be hiding. We found spiders and wiggly worms! Toddlers are looking forward to a fun and festive December.
Preschool have been preparing their own breakfast for the week working together to make some tasty overnight oats to share for breakfast. We have been experimenting with different resources seeing what different effects we can make when we mix them together.
Teaching Toolkit Theme
Our teaching toolkit (Our curriculum) is set across ten themes, each month we focus on a different area. This months teaching toolkit focus was - Be Creative (To be experimental and Expressive).

Christmas Dinner Day - 17th December only children who attend this day
Christmas Parties - 20th December 4-5:30 Fun filled Christmas activities within their rooms - please let us know of your attendance especially if your child doesn’t normally attend this session.
Christmas Closure - We are closed from 24th December, back reopen in the new year 2nd January. If your child is term time only please be aware that their last day will be w/c 16th December, and their return is w/c 6th January.

Keynsham Winter Festival
Keynsham Winter Festival is taking place on Saturday 30th November, 12-7pm and will be a lovely family event for the community.
Sign of the Month
Makaton uses signs and symbols to help people communicate. It is designed to support the development of spoken language.
Makaton signs are based on the gestures used in BSL (British Sign Language). However, unlike BSL, Makaton signs are used in conjunction with speech at all times and in English grammatical word order. you tell your story online can make all the difference.
