September 2023

Welcome to another month’s newsletter. This month we welcomed September and we welcome all the children back from the Summer holidays.

We have seen many transitions happening across the rooms this week as the children start to settle into their new rooms with their new keyworkers.

We have also been lucky enough to see some beautiful weather join us as we have experienced this years heatwave in September.

Babies

This month the babies have joined together in the Baby Cottage - The babies have loved spending time getting to know each other as well as some of the children getting used to their new environment.

The babies have also taken the time to explore the outside, riding on the bikes, building towers and getting super messy!

Toddlers

It’s been a busy month for Toddlers, who have enjoyed a teddy bears picnic, building bridges in the garden to cross over the bridge like the 3 billy goats, a trip to see the fire engine and of course enjoy the beautiful weather!

Rising 3’s

This month we have been keeping cool in the garden with some frozen dinosaur eggs. First we had to hatch them out of their balloons and then pour warm water over them to melt the eggs and rescue them.
We also picked some apples from our apple tree and then made some yummy apple crumble to take home.
We have also had lots of fun using our overhead projector to create shadows on the paper and then draw around them.
One of the children’s favourite things to ask to do was on the bikes and scooters.

Preschool

Preschool have had a busy month, they have been exploring the garden, making the most of the sunny weather. The Preschool room helped Chef Carey make some overnight oats that they then enjoyed the following morning for breakfast. They also put their gross motor skills to the challenge as they celebrated National Fitness day too.

Sign of the Month for September

Fire Engine Visit

We were lucky last month to have a visit form the Fire Engine - The children were lucky enough to hear the siren, use the fire man’s hose and even got to sit inside of the fire engine.

Thankyou to the team for allowing us to experience this and we hope to have another visit from them soon.

Parent News and Reminders

Breakfast - Can I just remind parents that we offer a rolling breakfast and snack in the morning between 8.30-9.30am, We used to offer this from 9am but we will be offering this slightly earlier of 8.30am.

Team News

We have some sad news to share with you this month, that Halle and Tia have decided to leave Snapdragons and would like to try a new career path. Both girls will be missed so much by the team, parents and especially the babies that have been lucky enough to have spent time with them. We are wishing them all the luck in their new adventure.

On a more positive note I would love to share some lovely news with you all - Katherine (Head of Rising 3’s) will be expecting her first baby in February 2024. We are so happy for Katherine and we will keep you updated for the future plans for her maternity leave.
