October Newsletter
Fun at the forest site.
We can’t believe we are heading for November! We have had such a jam packed October! The children have been exploring an array of interests from making their own salt dough hedgehogs in Toddlers to designing their own star constellation pictures in pre-school. We have been using the Autumn to our advantage by playing in leaves, making conker necklaces and starting to look at pumpkins.
It is our lovely Felicity’s last day with us on Monday. We wish her so much luck in her new role. We have recently had Molly join us who will be our Administrator on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The lovely Kira will also be our Unit Co-ordinator for the Baby Rooms. They may have to ask questions at drop off/ pick whilst getting to know everyones faces.
Celebrating and learning about Space week
When your child is the focus child you will receive some forms to complete to support our planning. These are sent via email. Please complete these if possible or feel free to tell the staff your child’s current interests as it really helps us to plan great learning opportunities for the children.
Sunshine circles
We love getting messy and the children love exploring a wide range of creative activities. However some children do not always like putting on aprons as they restrict their movements and some of the older children also choose not to experience these skills as they don’t like putting aprons on. We want to protect the children’s clothes as much as possible so we thought it might be a good idea if anyone has any old t-shirts or shirts to donate for us to use over clothes that would be fantastic!!

The busy bags are back in the entrance hall. If you would like to take one to explore the activities with your children you are more than welcome. Please just let the office know you have taken one and return it to the office after use so we can clean it over.

A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME DRESSED UP AND DONATED TO OUR DRESS UP FOR DOWN SYNDROME DAY! WE RAISED OVER £100 IN TOTAL FOR PADS (POSITIVE ABOUT DOWN SYNDROME).
Diary Dates
Wednesday 20th October- We would like to have a pyjama day this Wednesday, for The Pink Ribbon Charity to raise awareness and funds to help people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We will be fundraising across all the Snapdragons sites. We would love to see all the children and staff dressed up in their pyjamas!
Week of Monday 25th October- If children wish to dress up in Halloween/Spooky Dress please feel free.
Thursday 28th October- Spooky Spark Day. Children who attend this session will be having a day of a scarecrow hunt, can dress up if they wish, spooky menu and finish the day with toasting marshmallows in the garden with Tim our Forest School Leader. Tim will be here between 4pm and 6pm and parents can make smores on the fire with their child before leaving for the day. Unfortunately we can only open this to children attending this day and session.
Thursday 4th November- Concept Photography will be coming in to take photos of the children. If this is not your normal session and you wish to book a slot please send an email to the nursery and we can book you in. This also includes if you wish to have photos with siblings that don't attend nursery. We are still gathering emails and will be releasing slots soon.
Friday 19th November- Children in Need details to follow.
Wednesday 15th December- Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch.

October half term reminder for our term time only children. The October half term is Monday 25th of October- Friday 29th of October. if you are unsure whether your child attends all year round or term time only, please ask us in the office.
