Jaz has a wealth of preschool experience, we’re very excited for her to join us and be part of our Snapdragons team.

Busy Babies!

Babies have been busy in January joining in with many different activities throughout the month. We started January off by taking part in baby yoga, teaching the older children the names of some yoga poses and encouraging the younger babies to become flexible and guide them to joining in with the poses too. The babies have been busy developing their chef skillls making betroot and chocolate cake, apple upside down cake and some crusty loaves of bread to go alongside lunches!

Terrific Toddlers…

Toddlers have been continuing to celebrate into 2024. They made some silent fireworks where they each poured water, oil, and food colouring into a pot, mixing it themselves using a range of utensils. Overtime the science experiment released small drops of coloured ink creating different ink movements and shapes. Toddlers made some song spoons they painted, and helped to create pictures. The songs spoons are great for encouraging langauge development through singing.

Rising 3’s

Rising 3’s have been busy experimenting throughout January, during the cold weather they conducted various experiments in the garden The children experimeneted with salt, using it to melt ice. The children discussed how salt an melt ice on the roads and keep us safe. The children dyed the salt different colours by adding food colouring and then chose to make some handprints, afterwards we spoke about how cold our hands were! Our other experiment was mixing water, food colouring, baby oil, shaving foam and scented tea. We then explored using our senses by touching and smelling what they had made.

Preschool One

Pre school one have also been busy this month, getting back into the swing of things and becoming busy! They started the month off by learning about their bodies and learning some new yoga poses. They then worked together to make sure that the animals were all clean after an interesting and messy water play activity, the children shared the cloths and made sure between them they were all clean and dry ready for the next activity.

Pre School 2…

Preschool two have been busy doing some observational drawings, they looked at different objects which were presented in front of them or found an item of their choice. After studying the object for a long period of time they concentrated on drawing it afterwards, the children discussed their drawings and spoken in their groups about what each of them had chosen to draw.
