June 2023 at Atworth
We have all been enjoying the summer weather recently! We hope if you took part in our Father’s Day breakfast this was a nice treat for you, our little ones certainly enjoyed making all of your cards! Just another reminder that if you haven’t already brought in a named sunhat, water bottle and sun cream we do really need these!
Babies Snapshot
The babies took a little trip out to Atworth park. They had a lovely sunny stroll in the pushchairs and were eager to have a go on the swings! They sat down for a little drink stop before exploring some more, and a few took a little doze on the way home! The babies have also enjoyed getting stuck in with the water play and messy activities outdoors!
Toddlers Snapshot
The toddlers have been busy taking the indoors outdoors! Alongside loads of water and ice play to keep cool they have been exploring mud, paint, and foam. The cars took a drive through some sand, foam and clay which was very sticky on our hands! Some of our Toddlers found some dinosaurs hiding in the mud tray, whilst others made some beautiful marks with colourful foam.
Pre-School Snapshot
Pre-school have been focusing on Jack and the Beanstalk this month! They very carefully used scissors to cut out some leaves before working together as a team to create the biggest beanstalk imaginable! All of the Pre-Schoolers worked together to line up natural sticks and leaves and then used a tape measure to see how big it was. Some of the Pre-Schoolers have been using the magnetic shapes to create a castle from the top of the beanstalk!
Life on the farm
Lots of you may be aware that it is time to say goodbye to some of our Pre-Schoolers soon as they head off to school. Our school leavers took a trip to Bath City Farm to celebrate! They had a great time running through the long grass, riding on the tractor, and feeding the animals.
Staffing updates
Imogen has now started with us full time! Imogen will be based in our Pre-School room and works every day other than a Tuesday. You may start to see a few new faces across the nursery as we welcome some new staff over the next few months. We will keep you updated as and when this happens and introduce them to you as they begin with us.
A reminder that Lorraine in our Pre-School room is term time only, so she will be off over the summer months!
And a huge congratulations to Ellie who welcomed her beautiful baby boy, Harley, born on 16th June 2023, weighing 8.12oz! Both mum and baby are doing well at home!
Dates and reminders
Funded term time only end date: Friday 14th July (this is if your child is term time only, and receives 2, 3 or 4 year old funding)
Term time only end date: Tuesday 25th July (this is if your child attends term time only and does NOT receive any funding)
Pre-School graduation date: 5th August
If you are a Pre-Schooler due to go to school, please remember there is no funding for the month of August. If you would like to end your child’s contract before this, then please let us know. If you do not contact us, we will assume their end date is 31st August and you will be billed for this month.
A polite reminder than we do ask that children only have water in their bottles
Another gentle reminder that the nursery opens at 8am and closes at 6pm so please ensure your little ones are dropped off/picked up within these hours.
