At Snapdragons, we aim to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment, catering for every child's individual needs. We allow children to discover that learning is fun through focused and spontaneous play activities.

We encourage them to respect each other and each other's possessions. We aim to increase children's self-confidence, self-esteem and self-help skills, enabling them to become more independent.

We value parental partnership and involvement in order to ensure minimum disruption to the child's home routine. Parents can be assured that their children will be loved, cared for and are welcome to help settle their child into the nursery until they are familiar with their new surroundings.

Central to the quality of care offered at Snapdragons is the high ratio of staff to children and their training, experience and enthusiasm. Nursery nurses hold at least a level two qualification in childcare with the majority being trained to level three and beyond such as the Foundation Degree in Early Years or the Early Years Professional Status. All staff are encouraged to do additional training and to develop their particular level of expertise.

Children are grouped according to age with each room operating a key person system. This involves the division of each range into smaller groups, each with a member of staff permanently assigned, thus providing continuity of care.

Our daily routines allow the children to enjoy a free-flowing day with choice and child-led activities at the forefront of their learning experiences. They are given the opportunity to explore the environment around them and create their own individual 'learning journey' as they progress and develop through Snapdragons.

The nurseries challenge themselves to continually evolve and improve through award schemes and new ideas and are open to parental input in every area. Extra curricular activities are often available onsite for children and parents to take part in and we strive to involve the community around us in aspects of our daily life.

Children aged three and above will be able to claim the early years entitlement from the government the term after their third birthday. This allows you 12.5 hours of free childcare a week which can be used at Snapdragons if you speak to the manager at the nursery.

Snapdragons offers you fees which are inclusive of all nappies, meals and formula milks which means that you can focus on simply bringing your child to nursery without worrying about forgetting the essentials. We do not have any hidden costs in our fees, charging you only for the days that we are open during the year and allowing you half-rate holiday breaks for your family.
